If you are no blinded by stripes then I think you are in Mars already.
I’m personally loving stripes having its moment this season. Afterall it’s such a fun way to incorporate a burst of colors synced with symmetry. It’s both calming and exciting at the same time. Why should it be limited to the fashion on I thought… home decorators like us could take a cue and brighten up our space with an array of punchy summer colors. And I choose to start off with a plain planter. And to make it even more effortless used washi tapes to procure stripes. Taking only a couple of minutes to get the final outcome.
- Planter from H&M
- Assorted Washi tapes
- Wash your planter squeaky clean. Choose a range of warm colors like yellow, peach, pale pink and toss it in with cooler ones. Arranging the sequence of tapes depending on your taste or you can also follow how I did it by graduating from warm to cool colors. Apply your tapes leaving an inch both at the top and bottom. Pressing the extra bit inside the container.
- We kept an inch of the tape at the bottom for an extra grip. Also so that the tapes don’t peel off sooner with time than if they were to be cut right at the end of the planter.
If you can’t colorful washi tapes you can always use your trusted multi-surface paints to get the job done. Only this time you will apply any kind of tape to achieve exactness. One could also go free-hand for an imperfect artistic look like my friend Kara from Kailo Chic did!
