ViVa is committed to participating with the people of southern Vanuatu in improving their health by:
- providing a Medical Superintendent at Lenakel Hospital
- participating in the ongoing education of local health workers
- improving the quality of hospital facilities
- working towards self-sufficiency
- encouraging sharing between doctor families and the local community
- facilitating local health initiatives
- encouraging different innovative approaches to health care delivery
- ensuring ViVa actions and policies are consistent with local customs and are informed by consultation with local groups
