Now, that was a long summer break. It’s great to be back although a little late for the back-to-school season. One of my biggest pet-peeves is when I find a cute notebook online but then the shipment fee is twice the cost cause hey I reside in Turkey. And so, I have to find alternatives. And here we are. But of course, this doesn’t have to be an alternative thing only. It’s always good to have a notebook or two handy even if you got them all. A tropical palm leaf painting and quote is certainly two easy paths to notebook cover customization.
Materials:
- Notebooks
- Acrylic paint
- Foam brush
- Thin painters brush
Steps:
Pour in some white paint in a bowl and begin to paint the entire surface of the notebooks white. Apply a second or third coat according to the coverage of your paint. Let it dry for a couple of minutes. Bring out your thin brush and green paint in order to get your notebook covered in palm leaves. It was easier than I thought ( not sure what made it look tough). You just to start with an arched line and start with longer strokes of lines from the bottom and descending to thinner ones up to the tip following the flow of the arch.
Next, you want to choose a quote that you find uplifting and pen it down on the cover of your notebook. Speckle it to give it the watercolor brush lettering look.
