Hey folks, it’s the first day of summer and what better way to approach the hot sweltering weather than with this stylish floral patch sunhat. This year, I have surprised myself by the number of colorful articles of clothing I have added to my wardrobe excitedly channeling the tropical summer vibes that I had been oblivious to before. But most hats come in simplest of colors and I wouldn’t have skipped through the color code, would I? Instead of jumping on to the tassel bandwagon that we so often see, I sought to take a different route for my sunhat. Now, patches have come up as a big trend this year and it would have been a shame if I hadn’t made use of it. So here I am with the below tutorial video that I made for the Darby app that you can download for free.
Top off your sunhat by pairing it with matching slippers (tutorial for the pom pom slippers is coming soon) for a complete chic look.
Materials:
- Sunhat
- Embroidery floral patch
- Glue gun
Instructions:
I just threw that word at you there (instructions). There really isn’t much to do with this project. Visit your favorite craft store pick up a floral patch. In my view, the longer the size of the patch and the deeper the colors, the better sunhat will turn out to look.Of course, the ultimate decision is yours to take. Next, align the embroidery patch to your sunhat to get an idea as to how you want it to look best. As you have laid down your patch, fetch your hot glue gun and begin to glue down the patch accordingly. Going about one bit at a time.
I would say it in a heartbeat that styling this project was the most fun part of it all.
