These last few days I’ve been exploring my surroundings and far. Running up and down to my Turkish language classes every week. There was a time not long time ago that I was so used to shooting multiple projects hustling all the time in Dubai that today’s slow pace is hard to take in. While trying to make a list of projects that I need to tackle that I also excited about I am hopeful that I have my home back this week ( aka expecting our shipment ) So I can get back to the business as the work-alcoholic me is getting restless!!
Coming to this backpack that I had shared a glimpse with you here along with five other back to school diys, I didn’t know I would be handicapped without it! Why you ask, because the stupid me took the heaviest handbag that I could find for travelling and of course this backpack. Its been a lifesaver, I hang my cute sanitizer by the side and quickly load it with water, my shades and purse at escape. I’ve already received a couple of compliments for the choice of my backpack. I had to tell them it was a smart DIY! Ah! the surprising look on their faces. And I don’t blame them, it doesn’t look like one, does it?
If you remember this tassel earrings that I made ages ago, I used a mere two out of a huge pack of hundred pieces and then made these brooches. I still had a good number left to imagine this backpack makeover. I didn’t like the bling but certainly the shape. Going with the scheme of colors ( pastel pink ) I happily had them painted in various shades of pastel colors one fine afternoon ( which didn’t take much time ). It was all easy then until it came to design them pastel crystals . After many trials, peacock feather arrangement looked perfect and here we are!
If you like me, don’t fancy bling ( except chandelier ) you can try this project and choose to embellish just about anything backpacks, purses let your imagination go wild. For further details and instructions visit diys.
